16 Outfits That Were Seen At The Schiaparelli Haute Couture Show And Seriously Stirred Up The Internet

Although the fashion week in Paris has come to an end, the discussion of the event has not subsided so far. Fashion house Schiaparelli has unveiled its new spring 2023 collection, which has taken social media and the public by storm. Guests and models appeared in public in extremely unusual outfits, adorned with stunning and sometimes quite controversial accessories. Many were left with a deep and pleasant impression, while others are indignant and said that the event did not live up to their expectations and were seriously disappointed. We invite you to take a look at the presented outfits and evaluate them.

Kylie Jenner came in a dress with a naturalistic lion head (it belongs to the new collection)

What shocked viewers the most was the use of artificial animal heads during the show (one of which, as you can see, was also worn by model Kylie Jenner). However, the creative director of the brand, Daniel Roseberry, hastened to calm everyone down and explain everything, because the heads are not real. The designer just wanted to make a reference to the work of Dante Alighieri “The Divine Comedy” (namely, the poem “Inferno”). In it, animals are presented in the form of the greatest human vices – lust, pride and greed.

Despite the explanations, the collection was still met with criticism. Especially this approach angered animal rights activists.

However, artificial heads are not all that struck the guests of the event.

Performer Dodge Cat literally slayed with her bow, as she appeared at the show, completely painted in red and adorned from head to toe with Swarovski crystals. Such an alien image surprised everyone present, and the pictures of the rapper went viral on the network and began to scatter around it at the speed of light.

The makeup team spent nearly five hours creating the singer’s look, as they had to glue about 30,000 crystals on her skin.

Italian blogger Chiara Ferragni arrived at the show in a rather bold way

There were also surreal works, like this one.

This is a reinterpretation of the classic Schiaparelli suit from the 1930s. It was first created by the founder of the fashion house, Elsa Schiaparelli.

For some looks, the designer also took inspiration from Inferno.

Three main outfits attracted particular attention. They became a kind of feature of the show. The collection offered an updated look at the wildlife that meant no harm to animals. Also, designer Roseberry made a reference to the original work of Elsa Schiaparelli.

A lion, a snow leopard and a she-wolf are the main looks in Daniel Roseberry’s Schiaparelli 2023 collection.

The heads of the animals, although they looked realistic, were not real. Schiaparelli craftsmen painstakingly created them from artificial materials, including polymer clay, epoxy resin, foam and faux fur. For greater realism, all products were painted by hand. No animals were harmed during the event.
